The iPhone 20 Pro Max is shaping up to be a genuine leap forward, not just another yearly refresh. The flagship iPhone 20 Pro Max is tipped to arrive with a massive 6,000mAh battery, a redesigned camera system, and Apple's most advanced chip yet, all built on a 2nm process. Here is a closer look at what’s reportedly behind this device's battery, camera, and performance upgrades.
The standout upgrade is the iPhone 20 Pro Max battery life. The iPhone is rumoured to use silicon anode battery technology, which packs higher energy density than the lithium-ion batteries currently in use, potentially unlocking a battery capacity as large as 6,000mAh, according to a report by Matt Talks Tech.
Paired with an energy-efficient LTPO display, co-developed with Samsung for sharper visuals and smoother refresh rates, this should translate to genuinely all-day battery life, even through heavy streaming or gaming sessions.
Driving all of this is the A21 Pro chip, built on an advanced 2nm process. It's expected to bring faster processing for demanding tasks, better energy efficiency, and possibly a bump to 16GB of 3D-stacked RAM for quicker memory access. A new C3 communication chip is also rumoured to join the mix, promising faster data speeds.
On the imaging side, the iPhone 20 Pro Max is expected to debut an Apple-designed camera sensor aimed at sharper, more detailed images. The front camera is also tipped to move under the display entirely, keeping the front of the phone free of any visible cutout while still delivering full functionality.
Beyond imaging, the leak also points to a bezel-less, waterfall-edge display available in 6.4-inch and 7-inch sizes, with Face ID tucked under the screen too.
Apple is also said to be swapping physical buttons for haptic feedback buttons freeing up internal space that could go straight into that bigger battery.
