The iPhone most people will actually buy, the standard iPhone 18, never showed up at the September launch of the premium iPhone Pros. Awkward, but not shocking; Various reasons for it made Apple postpone its launch and it was surprising and disappointing for fans who had actually saved money to buy it. And going by the iPhone 18 price, launch date, design, chip leaks doing the rounds, this one's less about reinvention and more about quietly catching up: a price tag that is already making people nervous, a change in design, a sharper chip, and a smaller Dynamic Island.

iPhone 18 Price, Launch Date, Design

Nothing official about, but leaks peg the iPhone 18 price in India at around Rs 99,900. That is almost Rs 1 lakh and amounts to a huge jump when compared to the iPhone 17 price on launch, which was Rs 79,900.

The standard iPhone 18 launch date, alongside the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2, is expected between March and April 2027. That means the iPhone 17 gets an unusually long, nearly 18-month run as Apple’s go-to standard phone. Its sales though, have continued apace.

iPhone 18 design is likely to make it look like its Pro siblings. Leaked dummy units point to a redesigned rear camera module, two vertically stacked lenses inside a horizontal bar, with MagSafe magnets built into an etched plate. Silver, pink and dark blue are also being tipped as colour options.

iPhone 18 Chip, Camera

Under the hood, the A20 chip is expected to make the jump to a 2nm process, up from the A19's 3nm build, promising better performance and efficiency. RAM, however, is still up for debate: Ming-Chi Kuo says 9GB, Jeff Pu says 12GB, and nobody’s settling the argument just yet.

Cameras could get a quiet upgrade too, a 48-megapixel main and ultra-wide combo, paired with an 18-megapixel front camera.

The 6.3-inch display and 120Hz ProMotion screen are likely sticking around the iPhone 18, though a smaller Dynamic Island could nudge it closer to its Pro siblings.

Apple’s C2 modem, iOS 27, and IP68 water resistance are also on the rumour list.

None of this is confirmed by Apple yet, so take the price, launch timeline and specs with a pinch of salt until the company says otherwise.
