Deepinder Goyal's Temple: Price, Pre-Orders, Delivery Date, What It Is - Patience Is Part Of The Package

Deepinder Goyal has finally revealed more about Temple, his brain-reading or monitoring gadget. Temple price has been announced, pre-orders date too, but the delivery date may remind you of the iPhone Duo. The wearable won't reach anyone for months. Deepinder Goyal has confirmed that shipping begins in early 2027.

Deepinder Goyal's Temple announcements have shown that good things, apparently, now come with a 3-month wait or nearly so. Just take a look at the iPhone Duo availability, or rather, non-availability - buyers will get it in late January 2027 and Temple seems to be competing with it as far as possible on the availability front. Temple, the pill-shaped wearable built to sit between your forehead and ear, is finally ready for the next step. Goyal has now revealed his upcoming gadget's price and other details. Temple is priced at Rs 85,000, pre-orders are set to open, but there is a spoiler: patience is part of the package. Yes, Temple delivery date is months away. Temple arrives in six colourways, and Goyal has explained why nobody is getting theirs anytime soon.

Deepinder Goyal's Temple: Price, Pre-Orders, Delivery Date

As noted earlier, Temple price is Rs 85,000, pre-orders open on November 1, and delivery date is not near at all. Goyal, in his post on X, said that shipping won’t begin until early 2027. He hid the kick in description: "Each Temple is hand-made to order and delivered to you within three months of your purchase."

What does that mean? Yes, it requires a bit of translating or interpreting. Nothing gets built until someone actually orders it, and from there, the clock starts on a three-month build. When a user asked whether this was about quality control or simply keeping inventory lean, Goyal replied, "Quality control, and also making sure we serve each customer well, following the ‘grow slow’ approach with Temple."

For his first venture into biotech, it’s a notably unhurried entrance. Temple first caught attention when Goyal wore it on Raj Shamani’s podcast, and badminton star PV Sindhu has since been seen wearing it mid-match, well before the public even knew the price.

What Is Temple?

Temple isn’t chasing step counts or heart rate like your average smartwatch or fitness tracker. Its BrainFlow technology uses optical sensors to track cerebral blood flow along with signals tied to oxygenation and cognitive load, aiming to show how the body handles stress, exercise and recovery.

It also generates an Entropy score between 1 and 250, meant to reflect physiological strain, with sleep, workouts, stress and even caffeine nudging the number.

The device sticks to the temple using a single-use adhesive and can reportedly survive running, swimming and showers, with scuba diving being the one exception.

However, Goyal says it is built for wellness and research, not medical diagnosis. Does that mean it cannot beat the Apple Watch, which does advanced health monitoring, fitness tracking, and has life-saving safety features, at its game? Is it even trying to do so? Well, Temple has built itself an entirely new niche and comparisons may not be apt.
