The new Casio Vintage AQ-230ECK-3A brings together two brands with very different origins but a shared appreciation for Japanese design. Café Kitsuné, the French-Japanese café and lifestyle brand, has been championing matcha in Paris since 2014, while Casio’s Vintage collection has long found new relevance in retro watch design.
Based on Casio’s classic AQ-230, the collaboration keeps the familiar square silhouette and analogue-digital display, but gives it a decidedly fresher personality. Its light matcha-green dial is paired with a silver metal strap, creating a combination that feels less like traditional watchmaking and more like something you might spot alongside a matcha latte at a Tokyo café.
