When it comes to couture, craft and creativity, there's no better celebration of it all than India Couture Week, organised by Fashion Design Council of India, now entering its 19th edition. Every season, the nation's finest fashion designers present their carefully crafted creations, each one more exquisite than the other, showcasing not just their own talent but also of the artisans behind the scenes.

Among the most eagerly-awaited shows is that of Falguni Shane Peacock. The designer-duo who've always made headlines for their extraordinary expertise in couture truly know how to put up a show. Feathers, sequins, structure, everything and more. It's probably why their opening showcase, presented by Kohler, at this year's Hyundai India Couture Week 2026 is what all eyes are on, because when it comes to craftsmanship and self-expression, no one does it like them.

What makes this year's show even more special is that it's the first showcase for the designer-duo since RPSG Ventures acquired a 40% stake in the brand. It's been an exciting partnership since, which has also seen the brand opening its store at Jio World Plaza in Mumbai, their first flagship since this deal.

Naturally then, everyone's curious to know how this partnership will lead to further milestone moments, starting with the showcase at India Couture Week on July 24th. Which is why, we sat down with Shivika Goenka, Director - Luxury & Education, RPSG Group to talk about it all.

Since it's Falguni Shane Peacock's first showcase since partnering with RPSG, how would you say the showcase has scaled up both in terms of ideation and execution?

The creative ambition has always been Falguni and Shane's, and that remains untouched. What the partnership adds is the ecosystem around it: the resources and organisational depth to execute a vision at full scale. Le Grand Voyage reflects exactly that. The storytelling and craftsmanship are as ambitious as the house has ever been, and our role is to ensure nothing stands between that vision and its fullest expression.

Talk to us about the collection. What do you like about it the most? And how do you think it marks a new chapter in the creative evolution of the brand?

The storytelling, without question. Le Grand Voyage follows a journey across cultures and eras, and yet every piece remains unmistakably Falguni Shane Peacock. If I had to choose, the hand-beaded tapestry jackets stay with me; they feel collectible, the kind of pieces you keep and return to rather than simply wear. As a chapter, it shows the house honouring its couture heritage while embracing a more global design language, and that balance is exactly where the brand is headed.

What do you think makes Falguni Shane Peacock one of the most exciting designers in the country right now?

They have built a creative identity you can recognise instantly, and yet it never stands still. Their gift is reinterpreting Indian craftsmanship through a contemporary, global lens without losing an ounce of authenticity. That combination, boldness of design matched with an absolute commitment to craft, is rare, and it is what makes them one of the most exciting houses in the country today.

As Indian designers continue to scale newer heights, how do you think has the world's gaze towards Indian fashion and craftsmanship evolved over the years?

The shift has been remarkable. The world once looked at India primarily for its craftsmanship; today it looks to India for design language, originality and cultural confidence. India is moving from being a consumer of global luxury to a meaningful creator of it. That changes everything, because it means Indian brands are now valued for their creative ideas, not just for where things are made.

We're sure this showcase is only the start of what will be an exciting few milestones to come. Could you give us a hint of what else one could expect from this partnership in the coming months?

Without giving too much away, the ambition is to build across every dimension of the brand. Expect a deeper global retail presence in markets where the brand already resonates, richer client experiences, and over time, a thoughtful expansion into newer categories. Every milestone will serve the same goal: building Falguni Shane Peacock into an enduring global Indian luxury house. This showcase is truly just the beginning.

RPSG has long championed changemakers and pathbreakers across the board. In your opinion, what makes a designer brand truly different: a unique creative voice, vision and ambition, or something else?

A unique creative voice is where every great brand begins, but what makes it truly different is consistency of vision. The strongest brands build a world people want to belong to; they stand for something larger than any single product or collection. When that creativity is matched with craftsmanship, authenticity and a long-term view, it stops being a label and becomes a house.
