The Season of Discovery

Bicester Collection - Nine Villages, one European itinerary, and a smarter way to travel it.

Arshita Suri

The last stretch of the year arrives all at once: the parties, the presents, the cold-weather wardrobe, Diwali and the long run of festive weeks behind it. The joy lies in the people and the moments, and the details follow. So the sharper question isn't where to shop. It's where to go.

The Bicester Collection's answer is nine Villages across Europe, each anchored to a region worth the journey and each built around one idea: the Thrill of Discovery. It might be a new designer, a piece of European craftsmanship, a restaurant you'll want to return to, or a cultural encounter that becomes the best part of the trip.

The Insider's Edit

That idea now has a companion in print. This summer the Collection launched two complimentary guides, curated by Melinda Stevens. The Local Pocket Guides turn each Village into the starting point for a two-day itinerary through its region. The 128-page City Guides work as insider address books for the neighbouring capitals, from London and Paris to Barcelona, Milan, Munich and Dublin.

What's New

Something new is always brewing at the many destinations by the village collection, so one thing you can count on for sure is a new experience to take back with you.

At Maasmechelen Village, less than an hour from Brussels and Antwerp, three exciting pop-ups arrive.

Nathalie Vleeschouwer, the Antwerp label, stays until 31 January 2027 in a pop-up built as a full brand universe. Its campus classics get a bold twist: sharp blazers, oversized bombers, embroidered emblems with an old-money edge, and the new Autumn–Winter 2026 collection alongside.

Baobab Collection has opened its first standalone pop-up in Belgium. The handcrafted candles, diffusers and car scents include the Tomorrowland collaboration.

Jo Malone London makes its Village debut from 9 October, staying until 26 September 2027. Expect colognes, body crèmes and candles, including English Pear & Freesia and Wood Sage & Sea Salt, and the brand encourages layering the two.

Nine Villages, One Itinerary

A trip to London is incomplete without a compulsory visit to the famous Bicester Village. Loved by people of all ages across countries. It's truly an experience.  House of Voltaire's Beryl Cook and Friends, staged from 10 September to 25 October to mark what would have been the artist's 100th birthday, turned the Village into a mile-long open-air exhibition.

Fidenza Village, Milan's neighbour, runs its open-air art programme, The Stage of Creativity. This season's arrival is Wild Kong, Richard Orlinski's three-metre red resin gorilla, last seen at Milan Design Week. The festive season brings pastry royalty: Iginio Massari's panettone boutique opened on 10 October, with an official Christmas launch on 7 November and plans to stay into the new year. This year's tree, designed by Gala Rotelli is definitely going to be a sight you don't want to miss.

La Vallée Village, outside Paris, has more than 110 boutiques. Your bags will for sure be overflowing as this destination offers the absolute best of the best, directly from the fashion capitol of the world.  It pairs L'Art du Geste, a celebration of the métiers d'art behind French Maisons, with Café Lapérouse. It's the historic Maison's first address beyond Paris, founded in 1766 on the Seine and now with salons, a terrace, Shell Bar, a garden and a fifteen-metre fresco.

La Roca Village marks Barcelona's year as UNESCO World Capital of Architecture. Flowers by Bornay has built a floral installation inspired by Gaudí, Jordi Bernadó shows 24 portraits of lived-in Barcelona spaces, and a Casa Batlló pop-up adds exclusive products.

Ingolstadt Village pairs its Nouveau Bavaria programme with a first-time partnership with Kitzbühel. From 24 October, an original 1960s Hahnenkamm gondola sits in the Village alongside a chalet serving Kitzbühel specialities.

Elsewhere, Kildare Village hosts an open-air sculpture exhibition anchored by Kildare Gallery, with partnerships including the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival and All Together Now. Las Rozas Village presents Madrid. Unfiltered, with a monumental carnation made from fans, Talavera ceramic tiles and a collaboration with the artisan bakery Madreamiga. It also hosts Día de Muertos: A Journey Between Worlds, five Christmas tables, and a Diwali cocktail reception and art vernissage on 11 November.

Located near Frankfurt, Wertheim Village is an open-air shopping destination that brings together a mix of German and international brands. With its charming village-style setting and a range of boutiques, its definitely an experience to add to your travel itinerary

And each Village sends you home with something local, a souvenir that doubles as a memory.

The Art of the Personal

None of this asks you to do it all yourself. The Village offers the ultimate luxury of having a personal shopping service. Personal Shopping and Village Hosts shape a visit around what you need, whether that's a winter wardrobe, ski essentials, jewellery, beauty, homeware or the gift list. The Apartment and private spaces give families and groups room to browse at their own pace. Hands-Free Shopping lets you keep exploring without the bags.

A season of discovery across Europe

Picture the season as a route rather than a shopping list: Italian art before a Fidenza afternoon, lunch at Cafe Lapérouse, Barcelona's architecture followed by a Mediterranean afternoon at La Roca, a London stay that stretches into the countryside. That is the point of the whole thing. Find something unexpected along the way, then make it part of the journey.
