It's The Age Of The Minimalist Fitness Band

No screens, no interruptions. Fitness trackers are entering a new, stripped-back era

JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT SMART RINGS WOULD CONTINUE TO STEAL THE SPOTLIGHT, screenless fitness wearables are the newest it thing in the universe of fitness tracking.

While Whoop was seen as one of the earliest and most successful examples in this category, the market is seeing an influx of more names. Be it the Google Fitbit Air, the Polar Loop or the Helio Strap from Amazfit, a growing segment of users now wants fitness tracking without the extra screen of a smartwatch and with fewer notifications and less engagement with data.

There are, of course, a host of other factors at play here: better sensors, more focus on insights rather than data, AI, better battery life. Hell, some wearers are even pairing these trackers with traditional watches. Who says no to a classic dress watch with a Whoop on the other wrist?
