Glenfiddich and the Aston Martin Formula One Team have just put out the second whisky in their ongoing collaboration, and this one is a genuinely different bottle from the first, not just a new label on the same liquid. The Glenfiddich Scotch Whisky Aston Martin 16-Year-Old Limited-Edition Release No. 2 launched in London on August 3, 2026, with a wider rollout across the US and Europe continuing through the rest of the month.

Glenfiddich Scotch Whisky Aston Martin 16-Year-Old Release No. 2: What Is It?

This is a 16-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, the northeast Scottish region known for generally fruitier, less smoky whiskies. It comes in a standard 70cl bottle and is presented in a branded cardboard tube. The whisky continues Glenfiddich's partnership with the Aston Martin Formula One Team, but Whisky Release No. 2 takes a noticeably different approach to maturation.

What Is New About Release No. 2?

The biggest change is the cask programme. While last year's whisky release used three American oak cask types, Release No. 2 matures across five: first-fill bourbon barrels, Port pipes, Oloroso sherry casks, red wine casks and Fino sherry butts.

The Port influence draws on expertise from Glenfiddich's sister distillery, The Balvenie, which has long worked with the cask style. Together, the five casks give Release No. 2 a deeper and more structured character than its lighter, sweeter predecessor.

Glenfiddich Scotch Whisky Aston Martin 16-Year-Old Tasting Notes

The whisky has a deep golden amber appearance with copper and bronze tones, making it darker than Release No. 1. The nose brings stewed fruit, light florals, marzipan and polished leather.

On the palate, this Glenfiddich Scotch whisky is creamy and mellow, led by buttery toffee and caramelised cane sugar. The finish gradually becomes warmer, woodier and drier.

Glenfiddich Scotch Whisky Aston Martin Release No. 2 Price

Glenfiddich Scotch Whisky Aston Martin Release No. 2 Price In India

There is currently no confirmed India price for Release No. 2. The whisky is rolling out through retailers in the US, UK and Europe, including Master of Malt, The Whisky Exchange and ReserveBar, but Glenfiddich has yet to announce an Indian launch.

Whisky Release No. 1 remains available in India at previously reported prices of roughly ₹11,500 to ₹13,500 in Maharashtra, Delhi and Haryana. Any India price for Release No. 2 should therefore be treated cautiously until local availability is officially confirmed.
