Mumbai's after-dark scene has never looked better. Having covered much of the best restaurants and food experiences the city has to offer, it's now time to turn to its cocktail bars. Once again, there's something for everyone, from rooftop views to moody, dimly lit lounges, and all of them are must-tries, as Tatler Asia's list confirms.
Tatler's inaugural Best India 2026 awards named the country's top 20 bars, and five of them are in Mumbai. Whether you're planning a celebratory night out, a date, or a catch-up with friends, these venues offer inventive pours, standout hospitality and a real sense of place. Each one has earned its place on the list, and each rewards a little curiosity. Come early, order adventurously, and let the bartenders guide you.
Here are five names to add to your weekend bar hop, along with what to expect and what to order.
Set on the 34th floor of the Four Seasons Mumbai, Aer pairs skyline and Arabian Sea views with two different moods: the flight-themed Yacht Club and the botanical Gimlet Garden. It is the kind of place where the setting does as much of the work as the drinks, making it particularly suited to sunset cocktails and special occasions.
Must try: Tranquil Tides, Sesame Serenade, Aer-Plane
Price: Roughly ₹4,500-6,000 for two.
Tucked into Kala Ghoda, Americano is known for house-made extracts, infusions and tinctures. High ceilings and warm lighting make it as good for a quick drink as for a long evening. If you like cocktails that put an unusual ingredient or flavour combination front and centre, this is one to explore.
Must try: Gateway Tonic, Malabar Cooler, Horniman Sour
Price: Around ₹3,000 for two.
In a restored mill compound at Kamala Mills, the bar reworks global classics with Indian produce, regional spices and home-grown spirits. It's lively and usually packed.
Must try: Hot Idea, Side Snack, Bakery Run
Price: Older guides put it near ₹1,700 for two, the most budget-friendly here. Expect it to be higher now.
O Pedro brings Goan flavour to Bandra Kurla Complex with tropical, rum-led and kokum-infused drinks. It's a good fit for groups. Expect bright, refreshing cocktails with enough tropical character to make you feel like you've briefly traded Mumbai for a Goan holiday.
Must try: Where Else, Carrot Rhubarb Highball, Baga Brew
Price: About ₹3,000-4,000 for two.
From the team behind Masque, Paradox is an Art Deco-inspired lounge in Mahalakshmi. Head mixologist Ankush Gamre runs a daring menu of technical pours and drinks on tap. For cocktail drinkers who enjoy something more experimental, its approach makes it the place on this list to visit when a straightforward G&T simply will not do.
Must try: Cthulu, Spice Merchant, Elysium
Price: Approx ₹3,500 for two
