From July 6–12, OTT platforms roll out a sports-heavy slate led by Ram Charan’s cricket-to-wrestling drama Peddi, kabaddi crime thriller Balti and Kerala football docuseries Land of Football. They’re joined by legal thriller Ikka, French crime drama Nothing to Lose, family dramedy Trying S5, K-heist caper The Apartment Job, crime saga The Westies and more.
I wouldn't be joking if I said that streaming platforms all over the country have united to push out as many sports movies, series and documentarfies possible this week. Is this because of the Wimbledon-World Cup double Whammy? Most probably. But two major sporting events, it turns out, gives you a good chance to explore just how many genres you can explore within sports itself.
And so in this week's OTT release we have everything from Ram Charan's sports movie Peddi to gang rivalries in Balti, a documentary on Kerala's football traditions and many more. There are also courtroom dramas, thrillers and K-drama heists, and just a little bit of everything to keep your entertained for this week.
French crime drama Nothing to Lose follows Jada (Nawell Madani), a devoted single mother whose son urgently needs a bone marrow transplant. When every legal avenue fails to deliver a suitable donor, Jada is drawn into the criminal underworld in a desperate attempt to save his life.
