June 5 brings a wave of OTT releases across genres and languages. From Cape Fear’s menacing ex-con on Apple TV+ to Gullak Season 5’s recast family dynamics on SonyLIV, viewers also get Jennifer Lopez’s Office Romance on Netflix, gritty Kolkata noir Brown and surveillance thriller Patriot on Zee5, plus sports, BL and education dramas on other platforms.
This week's OTT slate arrives with accidental coherence: México 86 lands on Netflix days before the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off on home soil, Patriot brings Malayalam cinema's two biggest stars together for the first time in years, and Apple TV+ deploys Javier Bardem against a coastal American family in a ten-episode slow burn. In between, a disgraced Kolkata cop, a CEO with a no-dating policy, and the Mishra family's house loan round out a Friday that has something for nearly everyone.
Seventeen years before the series begins, attorneys Tom and Anna Bowden (Patrick Wilson, Amy Adams) represented Max Cady in a murder trial badly enough to put him behind bars for killing his wife and unborn child. Now free, Cady (Javier Bardem) torments them without leaving a shred of evidence, knowing the law well enough to know exactly how far he can push. Creator Nick Antosca uses the 10-episode format to interrogate the cycle of male rage, with Scorsese and Spielberg executive producing.
