Set at Korea Arts High School, Four Hands, Two Sonatas follows piano prodigy Kang Bi-oh and equally gifted Choi Jeong-yo, whose troubled past reshapes their rivalry and self-discovery. Joined by viola major Hong Jae-in, the series explores ambition, perfection and bromance more than romance. Starring Song Kang and Lee Jun-young, it premieres globally on August 29, 2026, on Netflix and tvN.

Can you believe it's been two years since Song Kang's last show, Sweet Home season 3 came out? Netflix's favourite male lead (he literally is nicknamed "son of Netflix"), who gave us hits like Love Alarm and My Demon, is now back for a musical dramawith a Whiplash-esque setting. What Is Four Hands Two Sonatas About?

Four Hands, Two Sonatas is set at Korea Arts High School, an institution built to nurture exceptional musical talent. At the center of this world is Kang Bi-oh, a piano prodigy whose flawless academic and musical record has made him the presumptive favorite to sweep the world's three biggest piano competitions.

This changes when Choi Jeong-yo enrolls at the school. Jeong-yo is just as naturally gifted on the keys, but he spent years avoiding music altogether after a difficult, unstable childhood. Bi-oh helps rekindle his passion for music, but the two find themselves at loggerheads as their talents collide in the race for the top spot.

Yearning for Bi-oh is Hong Jae-in, a viola major with an unusually sharp ear for music. She helps Jeong-yo join their school, and the show follows all three from their teenage years into adulthood as they navigate rivalry, ambition and the personal cost of chasing perfection. Despite a teaser hinting to a queer relationship between the male leads on first watch, the network has described the core relationship between the two male leads as a bromance rather than a romantic pairing between the two.
