Halloween falls this weekend, and Netflix has timed its new releases around it. The new Netflix movies and web series releases this week start with the docuseries The One About Matthew Perry, then go to Baththa, in which Vijay Sethupathi plays a gangster in 1980s Madras. Lee Jae-wook and Go Min-si lead the horror-comedy Dead-End Job. Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte play rivals in Akka, and Sundeep Kishan stars in the action film Sigma. Here are the five new Netflix releases this week, with dates, cast and what each one is about.

5 New Netflix Movies & Web Series Releases This Week (Oct 26- 1 Nov)

The One About Matthew Perry (Netflix): October 27

Three years after his death, this docuseries returns to the man behind Chandler Bing, the sharpest voice in the Friends circle. It follows his rise, his open struggles with addiction and the legacy he left. Expect laughter alongside the grief. For anyone who grew up with the sitcom, it is the week’s most emotional watch.

Baththa (Netflix): October 29

Set in 1980s Madras, this Tamil comedy-drama gives Vijay Sethupathi the role of Baththavachalam, a feared local figure accidentally locked in a school bathroom by a boy named Sabhari. The frightened child sneaks him rusks, and that small kindness gradually loosens the gangster’s hard exterior. It is a gentle, funny premise that trades menace for warmth.

Dead-End Job (Netflix): October 30

Lee Jae-wook, known for Alchemy of Souls, plays Hyuk-jun, a young man who lands a part-time job through the Spyder Human Resource Center that pays fifty times the usual hourly rate. The dream soon curdles. This eight-episode horror-comedy, which also stars Go Min-si, Kim Min-ha and Lee Hee-joon, makes a handy Halloween weekend binge.

Akka (Netflix): October 30

Set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Pernuru, this period crime series imagines an underworld ruled entirely by women. Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte play Bhavani and Rudra, rivals whose feud threatens to split their empire from within. The arrival of a mysterious outsider only raises the tension.

Sigma (Netflix): October 30

Sundeep Kishan headlines this Tamil action drama, which marks the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay, son of actor Vijay. Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj and Shiv Panditt play key roles. Thaman composed the music and Lyca Productions backed the film. It arrives with multiple language options, including Telugu and Hindi.
