This Friday, October 2, 2026, brings four South Indian OTT releases, including Bethlehem Kudumba Unit on JioHotstar, #Love on Netflix, Mother Promise on ZEE5, and Sardar 2 on Prime Video. From romantic comedies to spy thrillers, the lineup offers diverse genres for a long weekend binge.
This Friday kicks off a long weekend, and the watchlist is ready for it. The new Friday South Indian OTT releases for October 2, 2026 include Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, the Malayalam romantic comedy that has reportedly become the highest-grossing film in the language, arriving on JioHotstar, plus #Love on Netflix and Mother Promise on ZEE5. Karthi's Sardar 2 joins them on Prime Video, having arrived a day early. The mix runs from an age-gap romance and a dating app rivalry to a debt-ridden runaway chased by his own mother and a spy trail that starts with a single key. Check out all four below, with where to watch and what to expect.
Girish AD's Malayalam romantic comedy centres on Ashley, played by Mamitha Baiju, and Justin, played by Nivin Pauly. Their relationship has the complications of family expectations, an age difference and feelings that never quite disappeared. The film begins streaming on JioHotstar on October 2 in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
Arjun Das and Aishwarya Lekshmi play rival dating-app founders Matthew and Tara, whose opposing beliefs about chemistry and compatibility become increasingly personal. The Tamil series, directed by Balaji Mohan and showrun by Soundarya Rajinikanth, premieres on Netflix on October 2 in multiple Indian languages.
Dhananjaya leads this Kannada action comedy as a man whose disastrous bet leaves him dealing with debt, trouble and a growing list of people after him. The chase takes an even more unusual turn when his mother joins the pursuit. ZEE5 has scheduled the film for an October 2 premiere.
Karthi returns in dual roles in P.S. Mithran's espionage sequel, alongside S.J. Suryah. The story continues the spy thriller's world established in the first film, with a new conspiracy drawing the characters deeper into the investigation. Sardar 2 began streaming on Prime Video on October 1 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi, making it part of the October 2 weekend OTT lineup.
