Biju Menon plays a carefree widower whose drinking sparks a violent feud in Chellanam, forcing him and his two grown sons, played by Sreenath Bhasi and Ganapathi, to flee to a hill station in North Kerala. Vinay Forrt, Johny Antony and Grace Antony round out the cast. The 2 hour 14 minute film mixes brawls, jokes and softer family moments. Reviews were mixed because the story feels familiar, but Menon’s comic ease and the cast’s chemistry carry it.
Aadi Saikumar plays an upright sub-inspector who investigates a mysterious body and uncovers dark secrets across the city. Raghavendra Katari directs this 2 hour 31 minute crime thriller. Made in Telugu, it also streams in Malayalam, along with Tamil, Kannada and Hindi.
Set in 1980s Pernuru, a fictional town where a sisterhood called the Akkas controls politics, money and a gold-smuggling network, this Tamil crime series stars Keerthy Suresh, Radhika Apte, Tanvi Azmi and Nivedita Bhargava. The Malayalam dub lets you follow it without subtitles, and Telugu, Kannada and Hindi versions are available too.
Sajin Gopu plays Kuttan, whose wedding day turns unsettling after he wakes from a dream about his own death, with an underwater mystery at the heart of the story. Nikhila Vimal, Shine Tom Chacko, Ganapathi and Siddharth Bharathan co-star. The underwater scenes were shot practically, which gives the film a look of its own. It arrived a week before the rest, so treat it as a catch-up pick.
