Ravi Teja's Irumudi has turned into one of the more unexpected box-office comebacks of the year, and fans who missed its opening week are already asking the obvious next question: when does it hit streaming? With its mix of family drama, spirituality and an emotionally charged central performance, the film has sparked curiosity among viewers and fans.

The Film and Its Theatrical Run

Directed by Shiva Nirvana, Irumudi released in theatres on August 21 in Telugu, with a Tamil version titled Irumudi Kattu. Ravi Teja plays Trinath, an alcohol-dependent auto driver and small-business owner in a remote Andhra Pradesh village, whose troubled past resurfaces when his young daughter asks him to undertake the sacred 41-day Ayyappa Deeksha pilgrimage - the film's title refers to the twin bundle carried by Sabarimala devotees.

The journey forces Trinath to confront the parts of his life he has tried to leave behind, while his relationship with his daughter becomes central to his attempt to change. Priya Bhavani Shankar plays the female lead, with Baby Nakshathra as his daughter, alongside Sai Kumar, Swasika Vijay, Ajay Ghosh and Ramesh Indira. G. V. Prakash Kumar composes the score, and the film runs a compact 145 minutes. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, it has been read as a make-or-break comeback for Ravi Teja after a run of underperforming films.

The response has been strong. By its fourth day in cinemas, the film had crossed roughly ₹62 crore net in India and an estimated ₹87 crore gross worldwide.

Where Irumudi Will Stream

Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical digital rights to Irumudi. That confirms the platform; it does not yet confirm the date. Neither Netflix nor the makers have made an official announcement about when the film will begin streaming.

When to Expect It

Going by the usual four-to-eight-week theatrical window that most large Telugu releases now observe before landing on OTT, industry reports have floated a tentative mid-to-late September date, with some estimates stretching into October depending on how long the film continues performing in cinemas. All of these remain unconfirmed projections rather than locked dates, and the final call will likely hinge on how Irumudi's theatrical run holds up over the coming weeks.
