The film is set in British-ruled South India, roughly between 1854 and 1878, a time of harsh rule and repeated droughts. According to the trailer, the central events take place in Singanamala, an imagined Rayalaseema village, during the 1870s famine. A hero born into legend rises to defend his hungry, exploited people against the colonisers. The makers pitch it as a battle between right and wrong, with an emphasis on the region's dialect, customs and terrain.

Ranabaali Runtime, Budget And Buzz

The trailer has drawn praise for its detailed recreation of 1800s Rayalaseema, including a public endorsement from minister Nara Lokesh. As for streaming, no OTT date has been announced, so theatres are the only option for now.
