Ram Charan’s sports drama Peddi has opened to mixed reactions on social media, with many praising his intense performance, rugged transformation and screen presence more than the film itself. Viewers highlight AR Rahman’s music and some emotional sequences, but criticise the routine first half, stretched pacing, weak villain characterisation and outdated, uneven screenplay.

Ram Charan's much-anticipated sports drama Peddi has finally hit theatres, drawing packed houses and intense discussion across social media. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film marks the actor's return after Game Changer and arrives with significant expectations. While audiences have largely praised Charan's commitment to his role in Peddi movie, opinions on the film itself appear divided.

Peddi Twitter Review: Ram Charan Wins Praise

The first reactions on X suggests that viewers are appreciating Ram Charan's performance more than the film's storytelling. Venky Reviews described Peddi as "a watchable commercial entertainer with an honest story that works in parts." According to the reviewer, the first half feels routine, but the stretch leading up to the interval and the "Massa Massa" sequence stands out as the film's strongest section.

Similarly, Adi Reddy called Peddi a good film overall and singled out Ram Charan's performance as the biggest talking point. He praised the actor's dedication, dancing, and screen presence, calling it a career-best effort.

Fukkard was equally enthusiastic, describing the film as a powerful emotional drama. The user also highlighted AR Rahman's music, calling it among the composer's finest work in recent years.

Not all reactions have been positive. Several viewers criticised the screenplay and pacing, particularly in the opening portions.

Swaathi Chowdhary labelled the film "a complete disaster and a huge disappointment," citing weak writing, forced emotions, and an outdated screenplay.

Film tracker Christopher Kanagaraj echoed some of those concerns, noting that the first half feels stretched and only begins to gain momentum near the pre-interval sequence. He also criticised the villain's characterisation while appreciating the music and background score.

Another user, Bosspalem (@DpPoojian), described the film as below average but acknowledged Ram Charan's strong screen presence and impressive wrestling sequences.
