Early reactions to Alpha on X paint a mixed picture for YRF’s first female-led spy film. Many praise Alia Bhatt’s commanding screen presence, slick action and polished visuals, calling it an engaging entertainer with strong performances and stylish direction. Others criticise its generic, borrowed plot, uneven pacing, weak music and illogical sequences, saying it never fully realises its potential.
Alpha has finally arrived in theatres, and the first wave of reactions on X (formerly Twitter) suggests the YRF Spy Universe's first female led film has landed somewhere in the middle. A lot of viewers are talking up the screen presence of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, the action sequences and how polished the whole thing looks. Others feel the Alpha story and pacing hold it back from becoming one of the franchise's standout entries. Know what the moviegoers are saying in this Alpha review (Twitter) about Alia Bhatt, and Sharvari as well as others including Hrithik Roshan, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor.
Several viewers came away impressed by Alia Bhatt and how stylishly the film is put together. X user dk posted this after the first half: "First half done! #Alpha Good start. Alia's entry & the action sequence were really good, She's doing well. I did feel the pacing was off at times, with a few scenes & convo feel stretched. Sharvari good. Still feel Luthra should've been there instead of Anil. He feels dull."
Shrey Tyagi felt the film worked even though the plot borrows from familiar places: "#Alpha 1st half review: Plot is a combination of concepts from multiple Hollywood movies, but if you ignore that, it's not bad at all… quite interesting to watch, not getting bored at all until now. It's very tightly edited."
Dhruv had a similar reaction: "#Alpha – 1st Half: Original story and action sequences have been the best parts till now, though not something extraordinary but good nonetheless. Present story is a bit generic till now but a lot to be discovered. Alia, Sharvari, Anil Kapoor are good though."
Not everyone came out of the theatre happy. Het Tanna had a rough time with the first half: "#Alpha INTERVAL: Don't know what's going on, everything is on the same template with multiple illogical sequences throughout. Such a messy and a weak first half with utter silly things. Very much disappointed."
Filmy Sikander landed somewhere more neutral: "#Alpha First Half One-Word Review: Average. The story is a flop, but the action scenes are good. The music is a complete disappointment. Alia fails to impress, while Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor deliver solid performances. Sharvari's acting is just okay."
Lord Father was thoroughly impressed, writing: "Watched #Alpha: MIND-BLOWING The movie is stylishly shot and twists in the plot keeps you seated with anticipation. Alia Bhatt steals the show completely and Sharvari Wagh is my crush now, what an act. Not saying anything about cameos "
Rza gave the film 4 stars, posting: "#Alpha is a complete entertainer! The film delivers powerful action, stunning visuals, and a gripping story that keeps you engaged from start to finish. The performances are outstanding, the background score adds great intensity, and the direction is impressive."
Chirag Vyas had a more restrained take: "#Alpha Movie Review Hrithik Roshan's cameo is the only moment that truly brings excitement and relief to the film. Apart from that, the movie feels average and never really reaches its full potential. The story, pacing, and overall impact are just okay."
