- Mexico (Group A)
The co-hosts of this edition were the first to qualify for the Round of 32 after taking the #1 spot in Group A by defeating South Korea (1-0).
- USA (Group D)
The USA became the second team to qualify for the Round of 32 after their win over Australia made them the table toppers of their group. Interestingly, the first two teams to qualify for the Round of 32 also happen to be two of the three co-hosts of this edition.
- Germany (Group E)
Germany qualified for the Round of 32 after defeating Ivory Coast (2-1). They also beat Curacao by a 7-1 margin.
- Argentina (Group J)
The defending champions, Argentina, led by talisman Lionel Messi, booked their spot in this edition's Round of 32 with a 2-0 victory over Austria, where football superstar Messi scored both the goals, thus becoming the all-time leading goalscorer in FIFA World Cup history with 18 goals.
- France (Group I)
The finalists of the previous edition, France entered the Round of 32 by defeating Iraq in a one-sided 3-0 win. Notably, Mbappe is in good form.
- Norway (Group I)
Norway, which is playing in its first World Cup in 28 years, qualified for the Round of 32 after beating Senegal 3-2. Importantly, Erling Haaland has been an inspiration and led teh team to the next round with his great performances..
- Colombia (Group K)
Colombia defeated DR Congo (1-0) and officially entered the Round of 32.
- Switzerland (Group B)

One of the three co-hosts, Canada has already played its Round of 32 match and defeated South Africa to enter the Round of 16.
- Bosnia and Herzegovina (Group B)
Bosnia and Herzegovina entered the Round of 32 after being confirmed as one of the best third-placed qualifiers following a 3-1 win against Qatar.
- Brazil (Group C)
The five-time champions, Brazil entered the Round of 32 with a 3-0 win over Scotland. Barring a minor hiccup or two, Vinicius Junior and a fit-again Neymar have led the team into the next stage.
- Morocco (Group C)
Morocco was the second team from Group C to qualify for the Round of 32.
- South Africa (Group A)
After defeating South Korea (1-0), South Africa officially advanced to the Round of 32. However, they have already been eliminated from the World Cup after losing their Round of 32 match against Canada.
- Ecuador (Group E)
Ecuador defeated Germany in what was an upset and advanced to the Round of 32.
- Ivory Coast (Group E)
This edition marks the first time Ivory Coast has advanced to the Round of 32.

Another top contender for the crown at the World Cup along with Argentina, Brazil, England, and France, the Netherlands booked their spot in the Round of 32 after a solid 3-1 win over Tunisia.
- Japan (Group F)
Japan entered the Round of 32 as the second-placed team from Group F.
- Sweden (Group F)
Sweden entered the Round of 32 as one of the eight best third-placed teams.
- Australia (Group D)
Australia finished second in their group and advanced to the Round of 32 after a 0-0 draw with Paraguay.
- Paraguay (Group D)
Paraguay entered the Round of 32 as one of the eight best third-placed teams.

- Cape Verde (Group H)
Cape Verde, the tournament debutants, made history by reaching the Round of 32 after finishing second in their group.
- Senegal (Group I)
Senegal absolutely dominated Iraq in a one-sided 5-0 performance and thus entered the Round of 32.
- Portugal (Group K)
Portugal entered the Round of 32 with one win and two draws. While he has come in for criticism, Cristiano Ronaldo has led the team into the next round.
- England (Group L)
England booked its ticket to the Round of 32 after winning two and drawing one match in the group stage.
- Ghana (Group L)
Ghana entered the Round of 32 with four points in the group stage.
- DR Congo (Group K)
DR Congo entered the Round of 32 for the first time after their 3-1 win against Uzbekistan.
- Croatia (Group L)
Croatia finished second in their group and confirmed their spot in the Round of 32.
- Austria (Group J)
Austria also finished second in their group and advanced to the Round of 32.
- Algeria (Group J)
Algeria entered the Round of 32 as one of the eight best third-placed teams.
