Even as the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro launch deadline gets nearer, another iPhone has gone viral. This is the iPhone 20 and it is packing some 'jaw dropping' specs. According to a leak by Instant Digital, Apple is planning a massive special edition iPhone to commerate the 20th anniversary of the smartphone that took the world by storm and is still doing so every year since then. How seriously can the leak be taken? The leaker has built a reputation for getting things right over the years, but still this latest news has caught many by surprise and some of them are taking this specifice report with a pinch of salt.
Having said that, the leaker is not the only one to have been talking about the iPhone 20. A few weeks earlier another report highlighted that Apple was getting close to the ideal look for its iPhones - all glass. In fact, Apple had filed a patent for an all-glass iPhone last year - 6-sided glass enclosure, no less. It would be touch sensitive on every surface too. It was the dream of the iconic former Apple design chief Jony Ive, who worked closely with Apple co-founder Steve Jobs to roll out an iPhone that is all-screen. Well, it may be close to reality, if the leaksters got it right.
According to what Instant Digital says, the display may not really wrap around the four sides and that the bend will create a sort of an illusion ary effect to provide that all-glass look.
The helpful folks at 9to5Mac translated the text that Instant Digital put out about the iPhone on Weibo, "Guess what jaw-dropping features Apple might finally unveil for the iPhone’s 20th-anniversary model!" However, they also added that this should be taken as more of a wish-list than an actual leak.
Instant Digital also posted a list of “jaw-dropping” features we might see in the model.
* Solid-state buttons with haptic feedback
*Under-display Face ID
*Under-display front-facing camera
*Under-display speaker
*Support for reverse wireless charging
*Ultra-scratch-resistant display
*A 6000 mAh battery
It should be noted that these are not new features. Apple has applied for their patents, but were all considered to be under development and not finished.
