Apple just sent out the invites revealing the iPhone 18 Pro launch date and time, and no, they did not bother waiting for leaks to cool off first. The Apple 'Surprise and Shine' event is officially locked for Wednesday, September 9 2026, at the Steve Jobs Theater, Cupertino, with the tagline 'Surprise and shine' glowing- quite literally- across a soft blue backdrop with lens-flare effects doing the most (pictured along with colours above). The iPhone 18 Pro launch event will start at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time and 10:30 p.m. India Time - IST. Apple's SVP of Marketing, Greg Joswiak, even chimed in himself: "Surprise and shine! It's almost time for the #AppleEvent, on Wednesday, September 9!" Between the new iPhone 18 Pro lineup, a foldable making its debut, and a watch getting a ceramic upgrade, this one's shaping up to be the most stacked September event by Apple yet.
And when and where can you watch the iPhone 18 Pro launch event? If you would rather watch the surprise unfold live, the time that the in-person event has been scheduled at is 10 AM PT, which translates to 10:30 PM India time (IST) on September 9 2026. Apple will also be live-streaming the whole affair straight from Steve Jobs Theater, so you do not need a plane ticket to catch it- just a decent WiFi connection and the patience to stay up.
Leading the show is, unsurprisingly, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. The iPhone 18 Pro is rumoured to sport a smaller Dynamic Island, the new 2nm A20 Pro chip, and an LTPO+ display upgrade, while the Pro Max reportedly bags a variable aperture camera and a beefier 5,567mAh battery.
Dark Cherry is tipped to join the colour lineup this time, though the standard iPhone 18 is sitting this one out entirely, now pushed to spring 2027.
The real showstopper, though, might be the iPhone Ultra, the first Apple foldable iPhone, expected to fold in a pocket-friendly manner with a hinge built to actually survive daily abuse. The bigger internal display is said to borrow iPad-style app layouts and double up as a camera viewfinder when needed.
Do not expect a telephoto lens here though, so the zoom game won't match Apple's other flagships, and Face ID is reportedly getting benched in favour of Touch ID, much like most foldables on the market.
Beyond the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, the event is expected to bring the Apple Watch Series 12 with a ceramic case option, alongside two new AirPods 5 models. As always, none of this comes cheap; prices across the new iPhone lineup are expected to climb, courtesy of rising component costs, so keep that credit card warmed up.
