You probably already know this, but Seiko takes its anime collab business very seriously. This year alone, they dropped an Initial D inspired chronograph, a Love Life! Sunshine!! collab, and of course, the Fullmetal Alchemist Edward Elric inspired watch.

The brand's newest attempt, made with Tokyo merchandise platform Amnibus, gives us a timepiece inspired by Allen Walker, the white-haired exorcist from Katsura Hoshino's D.Gray-man.

Flip past the marketing copy and you are greeted with a gold mask, wings, and crown lifted from Allen's "Crown Clown" form set against a black face. The dial is textured with a lattice pattern that shifts under light. At 12 o'clock is a raised silver pentacle, a direct lift from the curse mark above Allen's left eye; at 6 is the cross scarred into his hand.

D.Gray-man creator Katsura Hoshino oversaw the design herself, and said she chose silver-white over red for the pentacle, for it to resemble snow or the spiral of life depending on the angle of light.

The case measures 37.5 by 33 by 5.9 millimetres, weighs 24 grams, and pairs gold-plated stainless steel with a cowhide strap over a synthetic lining, fitted with a Hardlex crystal rather than sapphire. Inside is Seiko's caliber 7N01 quartz movement, accurate to within 15 seconds a month and good for roughly three years on a battery, with 5 bar water resistance and no Lumibrite.

Turn it over and Timcanpy, Allen's golem companion, sits engraved on the case back beside the line "Don't stop, keep walking," a phrase that has become synonymous with the character. The presentation box carries the D.Gray-man logo on its lid and Allen's name stamped in gold foil inside.

About D.Gray-Man

For those not into the show, D.Gray-man follows Allen as an Exorcist for the Black Order, fighting the Millennium Earl and his army of Akuma while untangling the truth behind his cursed arm. It began serialization in 2004, survived multiple hiatuses tied to Hoshino's health, and now runs in Jump SQ.RISE after bouncing between magazines for years. Two anime adaptations, one in 2006 and HALLOW in 2016, kept the story alive between print runs.
