Casio GST-B1000-1A, GST-B1000-2A Watches: Price, Bracelet, Weight, Colour And More

The chunky Casio G-Steel just went on a diet, and the US finally gets to feel the difference. The Casio GST-B1000-1A and Casio GST-B1000-2A have been launched on Casio's US website, swapping out the brand's signature steel bracelet for a bio-based urethane strap instead. The result: a Casio watch whose weight has dropped to half that of its steel sibling, without losing a single spec that made the original worth wearing in the first place. Sporting the urethane strap bracelet, both Casio GST-B1000-1A and Casio GST-B1000-2A watches are priced at $385 each. That actually works out $55 cheaper than the steel-bracelet Casio GST-B1000D watch, which makes this less of a downgrade and more of a lighter, friendlier entry point into the same watch.

Strip away the bracelet, and everything else about the GST-B1000D carries over untouched to the Casio GST-B1000-1A and Casio GST-B1000-2A watches. Same case, same dial, just a different bracelet doing the work on your wrist. 

Casio GST-B1000-1A and Casio GST-B1000-2A weight with the bio-based urethane bracelet brings it down from 118g to 58g, roughly half, while the 46.9 x 44.2 x 11.6mm case sticks with Casio's Carbon Core Guard build: a bio-based carbon case topped with a stainless steel bezel. 

The Casio GST-B1000-1A colour goes black; the Casio GST-B1000-2A opts for the metallic blue colour, both with a textured dial, 24-hour sub-dial, and date window.

Solar charging, Bluetooth syncing and 200m water resistance all stay intact, alongside a stopwatch, countdown timer, alarm and Super Illuminator light.
