The Superocean Heritage collection from Swiss watchmaker Breitling is one of the most distinctive sea watches out there in the market.
Rooted in the design codes of the 1950s, the Superocean Heritage remains one of Breitling’s most recognisable models. The watch that inspired its modern rendition stood apart from other dive watches of its time as the world’s first dive chronograph. With a robust case and dual-sealed pushers, the original Superocean chronograph from 1957 reflected founder Willy Breitling’s drive to push technical boundaries and explore new markets. Alongside it, the brand introduced a time-only model, laying the foundation for the collection as it exists today.
Originally designed for both underwater exploration and life above the surface, the watch balanced utility with style. Spear-and-arrow hands, a rotating bezel, and streamlined proportions appealed to a generation drawn to both the sea and the social scene. That duality continues to define the Superocean Heritage today.
Now, Breitling has expanded its range of local editions with two Superocean Heritage B31 Automatic 42 India Editions. Powered by the manufacture Caliber B31, the models are limited to 100 pieces with a dark green dial and 50 pieces with a dark red dial. Celebrating timeless coastal style and modern precision, they are available exclusively in India.
The Superocean Heritage B31 Automatic 42 India Editions build on the elements that define the collection. Both feature a stainless-steel case with contrasting 18k red gold hands, indexes, crown, and bezel, paired with a black ceramic inlay for enhanced scratch resistance. The dark green edition is limited to 100 pieces and engraved “One of 100,” while the dark red edition is limited to 50 pieces and engraved “One of 50.”
The watches are fitted with a black mesh-rubber strap secured by a folding clasp for a seamless, watertight fit. A transparent caseback reveals the manufacture Caliber B31, Breitling’s exclusive time and date movement, offering a power reserve of approximately 78 hours and chronometer-grade precision.
The 42 mm case is water resistant to 200 meters and features a screw-down crown, ensuring reliability above and below the surface. A discreet date aperture at six o’clock maintains balance, while the signature arrow hour hand, spear minute hand and pointed indexes ensure clear legibility at a glance.
Available exclusively in India, the Superocean Heritage B31 Automatic 42 India Edition is designed for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
