Where We Love To Brunch In Mumbai
Caviar, curry, and a whole lot of negronis
By all accounts, Mumbai is a city of late nights and late risers—which is probably why brunch here feels less like a borrowed Western ritual and more like a sundowner, cultural event. I mean, we do love a good time, don’t we?
We’re not sitting at brunch to tick off the eggs benedict. Instead, we dress up and arrive at places that lean into indulgence – places that’ll send us home wobbling and straight into our beds. There are espresso martinis, sourdough waffles, and then another round of negronis. There are seven-course Tamilian samplers and matcha-fueled menus.

Bandra offers matcha and mellow Katsu curry under filtered morning light; Colaba deals in elevated staples and crisp sourdoughs by the sea. From new European decadence to long-standing icons that’ve been feeding hangovers for over a decade, here’s our pick of the best brunch spots in the city right now.
Milagro, Prabhadevi

If you like your brunch with a splash of Sevilla, Milagro is your calling. This chic restaurant has quickly carved a niche with its unapologetically luxurious energy. Helmed by Michelin-trained chef José Manuel Borrallo Sánchez, the Spanish-inflected menu feels like a postcard from the Mediterranean. We’re talking about Gambas al Ajillo to start, followed by the Black Paella. The Lobster Formentera is the crown jewel, equal parts delicate and decadent. But the real kicker are the cocktails. The cocktail menu is sexy, complex, and a little wild. Add the interiors and you’ve got yourself a place between Parisian salon and a Gatsby garden party.
The Merchants, Fairmont Mumbai

The Merchants at the new Fairmont is the largest food hall in the city. Six open kitchens sprawl across the space: from the soft, smoky Gucchi Gilawat in the Nawabi section to the umami punch of Pork Chashu Miso Ramen at the Japanese counter. At the European counter, there’s wild mushroom risotto and porcini cappuccino, with hand rolled tagliatelle laid out in the corner at the live pasta station. For the Indian kick, head to the pani puri station. The place is maximalist, it’s immersive, and it’s oddly personal. Don’t leave without visiting The Chocolate Atelier—a den of handmade confections and live workshops where dessert is made right in front of you.

Blondie, Khar

Nestled in Khar, this sun-drenched café is the new favourite brunch spot in Bandra. The matcha is ceremonial – with manga matcha latters, matcha s’mores, and green tea that taste like art. The food’s fun, surprising, and just the right kind of weird: benne dosas with bacon and thecha, Eggs reimagined with carbonara sauce, and fat, indulgent buff burgers that undo all the good your matcha did. Blondie is the perfect Sunday brunch.
The Table, Colaba

One of the OGs of Mumbai’s fine-dining scene, The Table still holds up as a Colaba institution that understands restraint. The menu leans fresh, global, and clean without ever veering into boring. The Sobo Salad is crunchy and complex, the Tuna Tataki delicate and punchy. The vibe is sophisticated but never stuffy. Sit by the window with a glass of white, order some truffle fries on the side, and let the meal pace itself on a slow Sunday.
Izumi, Bandra

Izumi’s reputation might be built on its sushi, but its brunch game is also tight. This tiny Bandra joint serves soul-hugging Japanese comfort with finesse. Sure, the Sashimi Don and Matcha Ice Cream are popular—but dig deeper and you’ll find slow-simmered ramen, crisp katsu curry, and the genius Salmon Nanban (a sort of Japanese ceviche-meets-fry-up that hits all the notes).
Tanjore Tiffin Room

Tanjore Tiffin Room is your brunch haven. Every dish feels like a dish from a mother’s house in Tamil Nadu—flavourful, nostalgic, and deeply personal. The curry samplers are a highlight, letting you mix-and-match with coconut rice, mutton stew, and tomato-based prawn curry. The interiors (courtesy Shabnam Gupta) are as textured as the food—distressed walls, patterned tiles, old-school warmth. And yes, the cocktails with curry leaves is just fabulous.
La Panthera, BKC

La Panthera is a full-throttle affair—live music, champagne flutes, glowy golden light bouncing off ornate decor. The menu leans European with enough modern touches to keep things interesting: wood-fired pizzas that crackle, tapas that come out hot and heavy, and a vibe that practically demands a tipsy Instagram story. It’s brunch for the bold—dress up, order the good wine, and make a day of it.

Olive Bar & Kitchen, Khar

You can’t talk about Mumbai brunches without giving Olive its dues. For over a decade, it’s been a no-brainer for Sundays in Khar—sunny courtyard, wood-fired everything, cold cuts galore, and a wine list that’s more adventurous than you’d expect. You can go full-hog with the set brunch menu or pick à la carte, depending on your mood (and hangover). It’s consistent, comforting, and still manages to surprise. Honourable mention to its cousin O Pedro, where Goan flavours rule and the bone marrow is a borderline religious experience. Bring stretchy pants.
