Love, in the age of dating apps, comes with its own set of rules. Netflix’s upcoming Tamil series #Love takes that idea and turns it into a romantic comedy about two people who have made a business out of helping others find relationships, while struggling to navigate their own.
Balaji Mohan, known for films including Maari, directs the series, bringing his focus on modern relationships. Soundarya Rajinikanth, who also serves as showrunner and producer, has described the project as a story about relationships today that retains its emotional core.
The series also expands beyond its central romance. According to Balaji Mohan, the story explores friendship, family, ambition and self-discovery alongside the relationship between its leads.

At the heart of the series is a familiar question for anyone who has spent time on dating apps: is a successful relationship about chemistry, or is compatibility what actually makes it last? The show uses that tension as the starting point for its take on romance in the digital age.
#Love streams exclusively on Netflix starting October 2, 2026. Beyond the original Tamil version, the series will also be available dubbed in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, giving it a wide reach across Indian-language audiences on the platform.
Netflix India's content head, Monika Shergill, described the show as part of the platform's growing investment in stories from South India this year, pointing to the chemistry between the two leads and the show's central love story as key draws
This series has a relatively new angle for a love story, with a rom com approach built around the dating-app economy, a director known for youthful, relatable storytelling, and two leads stepping into new territory, #Love is shaping up to be one of the more talked-about South Indian originals on Netflix this season. Mark your calendars for October 2 if rom-coms with a modern twist are your thing.
