It’s Jude Law and Andrew Garfield – obviously the world can’t over it!

For those of you who have been living under a rock or doing a social media detox (what’s even the difference between the two?), our collective ‘X’ has been buzzing with excitement over the announcement of a new Apple TV+ limited series starring Law and Garfield.

The series, titled Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy, will be based on the lives and times of the iconic magicians, Siegfried & Roy, with Law playing the former and Garfield, quite obviously, the latter.

As per the show’s official tagline, it “tells the wild ride relationship tale of two of the greatest showman-magicians in history who, along with their white tigers, are tasked with turning Sin City into a family-friendly destination. The duo push the concept of illusion versus reality to the extreme, personally and professionally, until tragedy reframes and opens a mystery surrounding their last fateful Las Vegas show”.

The show sort-of continues from Apple’s own podcast, back from 2022, on the two highly-controversial magicians, so if you’ve heard it then (or recently) you’ll know what to expect. Everything from the twosome’s global fan base, public personas and what really took place on the night of the fateful tiger attack that altered their brand and careers forever.

You have to admit the story has all the makings of a campy, supremely entertaining series. It’s got all the makings one would need and with John Hoffman attached with the show as writer-showrunner, expectations would be high too. He is the man behind Only Murders In The Building and Grace & Frankie after all.

Plus that title itself is quite a sensational one. The last ‘Wild Things’ to have come out of Hollywood was the infamous Matt Dillon and Denise Richards-starrer erotic thriller and that says quite a lot.

Law, who was last seen in Stars Wars: Skeleton Crew and Garfield, who most recently starred in the movie, We Live In Time, alongside Florence Pugh, are both capable performers having multiple awards through the years. Safe to say, the show will boast of interesting performances, especially since the two will have enough to play with considering the colourful real lives of their respective protagonists.

It’ll be a while before the show makes it to our screens though. Law and Garfield will only get started on the shoot in the second half of the year, so the release date can’t be anytime before mid next year.

A long wait, essentially, before we get to see the two actors spread their ‘magic’. But then, isn’t delayed gratification worth its while?
