There's Much To Enjoy In The 'Honey Don't!' Trailer
The movie starring Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans releases in August this year
It’s not often that a movie trailer leaves you grinning like a Cheshire cat while also making you absolutely spellbound. But no matter how once-in-a-blue-moon its occurrence, it happens indeed. You’d know what I’m talking about if you’ve watched the trailer of Honey Don’t!.
The movie starring Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans just debuted its trailer and boy, do I have thoughts!
After enthralling us with her performance in The Substance last year, Qualley plays the titular character, Honey, a small-town private detective who is out to solve a series of deaths that seem both strange and sinister. As the title suggests, Honey is being asked by everyone around to not delve into these matters – don't do it, basically.
But like all movie leads, she’ll continue to do exactly that which is where the film takes a twisted yet hilarious turn.
Somewhere in the proceedings, Aubrey Plaza enters as some kind of ‘mystery’ woman who ends up in a toxic yet tempestuous dynamic with Plaza. Oh, did I tell you that Qualley’s PI happens to be a lesbian? Things just got a lot more interesting!

My favourite part, though, remains Chris Evans. Ever since the actor has abandoned the Captain America character, he’s been freed to take characters that are far more layered. He’s no longer saddled with the burden of ‘saving lives’ or shouldering the entire movie on those broad, bronzer-layered shoulders. Which has allowed him to experiment with his movie roles. He’s clearly having a blast playing them too.
Remember his turn as the baddie in The Gray Man (2022)? Or his role in Ghosted (2023) alongside Ana de Armas? Or maybe, Red One (2024) alongside Dwayne Johnson? Yes, all three were disastrously lame movies but there was no denying Evans’ comic timing and ability to have fun as an actor. And though he’s back to the Marvel universe with Avengers: Doomsday coming out in 2026, for now, he’ll also be seen with Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal in Materialists, releasing in June this year.
Basically, Evans is enjoying this phase of his career as an actor. As is evident in Honey Don’t! trailer.
He plays some kind of a priest/cult-leader in the movie who is up to no good behind walls. He’s also into threesomes – as shown in the trailer before you accuse me of being judgemental – so you can’t imagine what else would he be doing under the sheets (pun not intended!).
He gets some of the best lines in the trailer and also gets to pout and walk around without his shirt. Cinema is back and how!

The film was also stars Lera Abova, Jacnier, Gabby Beans, Kristin Connolly, Lena Hall, Don Swayze, Josh Pafchek, Kale Brown, Alexander Carstoiu, and Christin Antidormi.
Shot in New Mexico last year, the film will debut at the Cannes Film Festival later this month and release in theatres on August 22.

The movie promises a summer vibe unlike any other. There’s murder, intrigue, thrills and a whole lot of dark humour. Who said you can’t have it all!
