An electric trimmer is usually the safest choice, especially for sensitive areas. Razors give a closer finish, but they also increase the risk of irritation.
If hair is long, use scissors first. It makes everything easy and safer. Make sure you’re working in good lighting so you don’t overdo it.
With a trimmer, always begin with a longer guard. You can go shorter if needed. Stretch the skin gently to avoid nicks.
Only shave on wet skin, with soap or shaving gel. Shave with the grain, not against it, and rinse the blade often, just like you would on your face.
Never dry shave, especially in sensitive areas. Don’t jump straight to zero length with a trimmer. Skip grooming if you’ve been sweating; wait until your skin has cooled down.
Rinse with cool water, pat dry gently, and moisturise the area well, aloe vera works great. Avoid tight clothing right after to let your skin breathe.
